Louise is fortunate to be living her dream with her husband, Chris, near the small town of Guffey, Colorado. She spends her time walking her Great Danes, horseback riding, spoiling her five cats, milking her Nubian goats, making cheese, sculpting in her studio, and managing the business side of her art. Born in 1962 in Darlington, England, Louise trained in classical ballet at The Urdang Academy and The North London School of Performing Arts. She performed with Dance for Everyone (London) and The Israel Ballet (Tel Aviv). Her background in dance helped shape her love of figurative sculpture. After moving to the United States in 1984, Louise worked as a massage therapist—an experience that deepened her understanding of anatomy and the nuances of the human form. She began studying clay modeling at Santa Monica College, focusing initially on the human figure. However, after relocating to the rural mountains of Colorado in 1998, her only available model was her Great Dane. The result was a body of work consisting of fine classical renderings of dogs that are often both humorous and elegant. A passionate animal lover, Louise hopes to one day establish a retirement home for senior Great Danes. Working from her ranch studio near Guffey, she finds constant inspiration in the vast, rugged beauty of the Colorado high country. Louise has won more than 120 awards for her sculptures. She is a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society and a professional member of the Society of Animal Artists, Allied Artists of America, Hudson Valley Art Association, and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. Her work is currently represented by ten fine art galleries across the United States and England.
