Suzan and Harry Claytor - Proprietors
Harry & Suzan Claytor have been the owners of Tilting at Windmills Gallery since 1990. Before moving to Vermont, both of them were involved in corporate careers, Harry as a Corporate Director of Purchasing at an automotive firm and Suzan at Aetna Life & Casualty as a Senior Consultant in the Corporate Marketing Department.
"Art has always been a big part of our lives, we began collecting as a hobby and it turned into a career." Says Harry. "Purchasing Tilting at Windmills Gallery and moving to Vermont were two opportunities that we could not pass up. We have so many customers who have become very good friends over the years. It is a fabulous business."
In addition to working at the gallery we also enjoy playing golf both in Vermont and at our second home in Bonita Springs, Florida. "Tilting at Windmills Gallery has given us the opportunities to enjoy our life while working at a career that is a pleasure to come to every day."
Lisa Helmholz-Adams - Director
Lisa has 25 years of a experience in the arts and has lived and travelled abroad extensively. As Director of Tilting at Windmills for the past 14 years, Lisa expresses her great appreciation for the different schools as well as the different mediums. "I can only say that the artists here reflect a strong commitment to bringing you the finest art and sculpture. We are always on the the lookout for new art that is on the cutting edge."
There's never a dull moment at the Dorset home Lisa shares with her husband and 3 boys kent(15)Oliver(15)Austen(17) Outside the gallery, Lisa spends time with her family and is ranked #1 in the northeast in professional saber fencing. "I love fencing because it keeps me mentally sharp as well as physically fit."
Lisa stays involved in the community by volunteering for the missions committe, Race for the Cure and the local Lacrosse board. "I try to give back to a community that has provided me with beautiful surroundings and a great quality of life. I am fortunate that a gallery as wonderful as Tilting at Windmills shares these feelings."
