SISYPHEAN CIRCLE (pointer VIII)

JOHN VAN ALSTINE
Price:$3200
Medium:Bronze/slate/lacquered steel
Size:7.5″ x 14″ x 3″

Abstract art fuels the viewers imagination. For me this piece has a feel of a unicycle constructed from stone and metal. It is hardly a bike but shows the feeling of weightless motion. John’s art is at home inside or outside in your favorite viewing spot.

This may be a bit out of season but a pure delight in symmetry and line. Schaats means ‘skate’ in Dutch. It imparts the vision of a smooth, peaceful hushed glide of blade to ice while using elements of nature and man.

HAPPY 50TH TILTING AT WINDMILLS GALLERY 1971 -2021
WE ARE ALL READY FOR SPRING!!! It has been a long winter and a long 2020.  The gallery is transforming from winter to spring and it feels uplifting to see flowers outside and inside.  Green is such a comforting color.  The featured piece...... A FEW GOOD WORDS....oil on linen....40" x 48" was my therapy painting for last years' frustrations.  Each night I would add a couple (if time permitted) words that gave me peace of mind and hope for daily life incorporating many of them rather than continued hostility and anger. Spring brings rejuvenation and possibilities that we can't even imagine.  Looking forward to a wonderful  year ahead and to your visits!
